Clarence Kaiyogana

Co-Investigator, Ekaluktutiak Hunters and Trappers Organization

Clarence is originally from Cambridge Bay, although he spent part of his youth in Yellowknife. Has been guiding for the local HTO over 20 years, and has been on the BoD since 2016. He is a subsistence hunter – everything that he catches is food for his family and community, while any furs harvested his wife will sew. Clarence is particularly concerned about the health of the local caribou populations. Caribou are really scarce at the moment, with only 50 tags given out in a community of 1800. He hopes these types of projects will help contribute to long-term population sustainability.
